Srinagar, Aug 07 (KNO): Deputy Inspector General of Police Maqsood ul Zaman on Friday asked the officials to uphold the dignity and ceremonial excellence of the Independence Day Parade 2026 at APC Zewan. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer, a police spokesman said DIG Zaman convened meeting of all subordinate supervisory officers and nodal officers of other departments associated with Independence Day Parade-2026 at APC Zewan to review the arrangements and preparations for presentation of ceremonial Independence Day Parade 2026. The DIG Zaman, as per the statement directed the officials stressed on the need for maintaining high standards of turnout, effective coordination among participating units and achieving precision and synchronization in drill to uphold the dignity and ceremonial excellence of the event. He also directed for comfortable accommodation and timely refreshments for all parade contingents. DIG Zaman, the statement said, also issued necessary directions to all stakeholders to ensure the successful, smooth and colorful presentation of the Independence Day Parade. The statement said that during the meeting, the chair was apprised of the status of preparedness by the concerned officers. All aspects related to the conduct of the ceremonial parade were reviewed in detail and inter-departmental coordination issues were discussed threadbare—(KNO)
